LEARN HOW TO DRAW THE NOSE, NOSTRILS, AND HUMAN FACES DRAWING LESSONS
|

Some people have anxiety when it comes to
drawing noses, but have no fear, noses are easy! In fact, noses are so
easy that they can be drawn in four steps. This is going to be a short
tutorial, folks.

A friend showed me this really simple way to
draw a cartoon nose back when I was in University. If you're not ready
to jump into drawing a realistic nose, I hope this quick fix nose
drawing can get you going.

A tutorial to learn how to Draw the Upward Tilt to the Nose
|
|
|
Noses are handled very differently from
drawing eyes, and we will mostly focus on how light is hitting them.
Since there aren’t many hard lines on a nose, I’m going to show you how
to develop a nose using values. Let’s start by drawing the entire basic
shape of the nose. I’m going to do two different noses.

The simple tutorial provides a lesson in
guided, easy steps: first sketching, then drawing, and finally coloring
(using the special coloring page). Each distinct step will advance only
as you choose, so following the lesson is no problem! Did you know that
the nose can identify several thousand different smells, while the
tongue can identify only four tastes? When you taste food, you're
mostly smelling it.

A 12 step tutorial for those who want to learn how to draw a human nose.

Noses may be the toughest of all human
features to draw realistically. There are plenty of effective cartoon
noses, but how do you draw something that is all soft odd shaped
shadows and juts out from the face? Drawing a nose is a good way to
develop a deep understanding of light and shadow -- and very soft
shading.

I made this tutorial to show the different
steps that I take in drawing a realistic nose. There are many different
methods though, so don't rely purely on this one.
|
|
|
The nose is formed by a series of curved
planes. This makes it difficult to draw as there are very few lines to
help us describe its shape.

|
The nose is a feature that is often
overlooked by portrait artists. But it shouldn't be! If you don't get
the nose quite right, the whole portrait suffers.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw the nose from a 3/4 view and from the side.

In this tutorial -- which is more like a
small anatomical lesson than a step-by-step tutorial, really -- I'll
try to show how an anatomically correct nose looks like and to give
some hints on how to draw them. You won't need much GIMP skills for
this one -- the airbrush at 50% opacity is what I've used here ...
these skills you can train on paper just as well. All the thumbnails
below are clickable.
