Do you want to learn how to draw Raticate, one of the most popular of all Pokemon characters amongst boys and girls? I have put together a step-by-step tutorial that will help you figure out how to draw Raticate by using simple shapes to build up Raticate’s form. This is an intermediate cartooning tutorial that older kids, teens, and adults will enjoy. Even some younger children might be able to draw Raticate if you stand by to help with the instructions. How to Draw Raticate from Pokemon for Kids : Step by Step Drawing Lesson

First, Sketch out a rough outline of Raticate’s body. If you look at Raticate’s body closely, you will be able to see that his body is the shape of an oval…or you can even see that it is the shape of a baked potato. Don’t worry about mistakes because you can erase these later. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outline the ‘right’ lines.

Now, draw an imperfect circle at the top right of the oval – this will be the inside of Raticate’s ear.

Now draw a flames-like shape to the right of this circle – this will be the outside of Raticate’s ear.

Now lets draw Raticate’s eye. The eye sort of looks like a rectangle, but the underside of the rectangle is curved slightly upwards.

Now draw a squiggly line with the same curve as the outside oval shape. This squiggly line will be the separation of the yellow and brown fur. At he left you will draw the shape of his nose.

Now draw a shape that looks like a bubble letter ‘E’. This is Raticate’s yellow whiskers.

Now draw the whiskers on the left side of Raticate. Also draw the underside of Raticate’s mouth.

Now lets draw Raticate’s teeth. You can sort of see that the teeth look like a ‘W’ on to of an ‘M’.

Now lets draw Raticate’s hand.

Now draw Raticate’s tail and some of the lines of his fur.

You can see part of Raticate’s left ear poking out…it osrt of looks like a sideways ‘P’. Also draw Raticate’s left hand…it sort of looks like a bubble ‘C’ letter on top of an oval.

Now draw Raticate’s feet. They both sort of look like Bubble ‘M’s.

Now you just have to erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a pen or marker. If you are having problems figuring out which lines to erase, then reference my drawing (above) for help.

Use your watercolors, markers, colored pencils, crayons, or chalk to color Raticate and you will have an amazing Raticate to show off to your friends.
