The above picture of a cartoon Ash Ketchum is what we will be drawing step by step today. Find this drawing tutorial below. Get out a piece of paper, a pencil, and a black marker. Good luck.

Step 1

First, lightly draw out the basic shapes of Ash.

Step 2

Now lets concentrate on Ashs face. Lightly draw 2 lines cutting the head into quarters (one cutting the circle in half horizontally and one vertically). Now that you did this, you can will be able to more easily see where to place Ash’s facial features. Now lets draw both of Ash’s eyes. Ash’s eyes are made up of a shape formed by an upside down capital letter ‘U’ closed with a line. Notice that the right eye is lower than the left one.

Step 3

Now lets draw the pupils of the eye. Draw an oval shape in each eye (take note of where this oval is located in each eye) with a large portion of this oval not colored in for the eye’s highlight.

Step 4

Now lets draw Ash’s nose and mouth. This time I drew light blue lines to show you that the nose starts at the same spot that the left eye starts and ends at the same point that the right eye ends. Also notice that the mouth is in the center of both eyes.

Step 5

draw 2 ‘z’ like shapes underneath each eye.

Step 6

Draw Ash’s chin as a wide letter ‘V’ like shape.
