How to Draw Spike the Dog from Rugrats with Easy Step by Step Drawing Lesson

Today, I will show you how to draw Spike, from The Rugrats show on Nickelodeon. Spike is  The Pickles’ (Tommy and Dill) brown hound dog. Below are step by step drawing instructions that are illustrated in a way that can help you draw him too. How to Draw Spike the Dog from Rugrats with Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

Start off by drawing Spike’s face with basic shapes….a circle and a sideways letter ‘U’ or half of an oval…as pictured above.

Step 2

Now draw a circle for Spike’s nose. Draw 2 circles / ovals … one for each eye…you might want to lightly sketch a line, like I did, to make sure that the eyes are aligned the way they should be. The eye closer to you is slightly bigger because it is closer to you.

Step 3

Now draw Spike’s neck and ears. Draw a number ’11’ for Spike’s neck…the ’11’ curves outwards as it reaches for Spike’s face. Draw his ears by drawing them the way I did. I drew ovals in there to show you that you can see smaller shapes within the bigger ones…you can pretend that the ovals attach to number ’11’s.

Step 4

Draw a large oval for Spike’s body…and  circle connecting the neck to the body.

Step 5

Now draw Spike’s tail…a sideways / backwards ‘s’ like shape. Draw an oval for the back thigh. Then draw Spike’s foot by drawing a letter ‘L’ like shape for the back of the foot…and 3 ovals for his toes.

Step 6

Draw an oval for the front and back shoulders.

Step 7

draw 3 ovals for each front foot as well. also draw the rest of the foot as pictured above.

Step 8 – Finish up the Drawing of Spike the Dog

Now finish up the drawing of Spike by putting in final details. You can color Spike too if you want…either way, make sure to show off your drawing of Spike the Dog to all of your friends and family. I hope that you had fun.
