This site is so colorful. How do you know which colors to use to make them really pop in a drawing, in order to make it successful?! Forums: |

Ah, my fellow artist, it's this thing called complementary colors. Using certain colors (red is one that REALLY pops) can cause a drawing to look really bright and colorful. Complementary colors are colors that, when put next to each other, they help eachother look brighter. Green and blue is an example. Red and orange is another. If you look closely at the pics on this site, you'll notice that Admin used plenty of complementary colors. For example, that red and yellow bird on the top right. Here is a site that shows you how to make a color wheel (will help you pick complementary colors): http://www.drawspace.com/lessons/view/r01 |
