How to Draw Reindeers Step by Step Drawing Lesson (Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer)

It is almost Christmas already, so do you want to learn how to draw one of Santa Clause’s Reindeers now? I had Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer in mind when I drew this reindeer, but by making the nose smaller, this drawing could be for any of Santa’s reindeers. If you learn how to draw this reindeer, I bet you will shock all of your friends with your drawing abilities. I  have put together a step-by-step tutorial that will help you figure out how to draw  cartoon reindeers by using simple shapes to build up his  form. This is an intermediate cartooning tutorial that kids, teens, and adults will enjoy…but it is specifically meant for school aged children, teens, and adults. Enjoy!

How to Draw Cartoon Reindeers Step by Step Drawing Tutorial for Kids, Teens, and Adults

The above picture of a cartoon reindeer and is what we will be drawing step by step today. Find this drawing tutorial below. Get out a piece of paper, a pencil, and a black marker. Good luck.

Step 1

Draw an oval with 2 long rectangle-like cylindar shapes in the front.

Step 2

Draw a triangle like shape at the top / front of the oval-shape. Draw a backwards bubble letter ‘C’ behind the 2nd rectangle.

Step 3

Draw an oval shape on top of the triangle. Draw an ‘S’ like shape and a line and then connect them with a curved line (for the reindeer’s back leg).

Step 4

Draw a big circle for the reindeer’s nose. Draw a highlight inside the reindeer’s nose.

Step 5

Draw a sideways letter ‘W’ shape for the reindeer’s mouth.

Step 6

Draw an oval for the reindeer’s eye and also draw a line from the eye to the nose (for the bridge of the reindeer’s nose).

Step 7

Step 8

Nose draw a sideways letter ‘V’ for both of the reindeer’s ears.

Step 9

Now draw a curved line inside each of the reindeer’s ears.

Step 10

Now draw a sideways ‘3’ for the top of the reindeer’s head. Also draw a heart-like shape for the reindeer’s pupils.

Step 11

To draw the antlers. You can draw an outward slanted line for each of the antlers and then just make finger like shapes.

Step 12

Now refine the shape of the reindeer’s neck by making it curvier. Also draw the reindeer’s collar which looks like a backwards bubble letter ‘C’.

Step 13

Draw circles on the collar. Also draw the bell.

Step 14

Draw an upside down letter ‘V’ for the reindeer’s tail.

Step 15

Make the legs curvier (as shown above) and make the tail fuzzier.

Now you just have to erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a black pen or marker. Making thick, interesting lines instead of the thin pencil lines makes quite a differnce in the end result, doesn’t it?
