How to Draw Cartoon Hamsters with Easy Step by Step Drawing Lesson

Step 1

Start drawing a cartoon hamster by drawing the basic shapes that make up the hamster’s form. Draw a circle for the hamster’s head and a rectangle for the hamster’s body.

Step 2

Now think of the hamster’s head as a ball. Draw center lines around the ‘ball’ like seen above. These will be the guidelines for drawing the hamster’s face. Draw an oval below the center guidelines (for the hamster’s nose). Draw the hamster’s ears as well.

Step 3

Within the oval that we drew in step #2, draw a letter ‘v’ like shape (highlighted in pink). Draw the curved lines that are around the nose (highlighted in green). Draw the insides of the ears (highlighted in pink).

Step 4

Draw the ovals (highlighted in purple) for eyes. Draw the hamster’s mouse (highlighted in pink) by drawing 2 sideways letter ‘J’s. Draw the hair that is within the hamster’s ears as zig-zaggy letter ‘M’ like shapes.

Step 5

Draw oval shapes inside the eyes. draw another oval shape within that oval…fill it in except for a spot for the highlight of the eye. Draw a letter ‘u’ like shape under the smile (highlighted in yellow) for the open mouth. Draw the hamster’s teeth as a sideways capital letter ‘E’ (highlighted in purple). Draw a letter ‘u’ like shape under the face (highlighted in pink) for the hamster’s chin.
