How to Draw a Wrapped Gift or Present with Ribbon and Bow

Step 1

Start off your gift by drawing a straight vertical line. Then draw 2 lines pointing away from you (as seen above). This should look like a down arrow now.

Step 2

Now draw 2 vertical lines on both sides of the arrow.

Step 3

Now connect the tops together with lines. Make sure that the bottom and top lines are both parallel to each other … as seen in my picture above.

Step 4

Lightly draw a line from the farthest top point on the left to the farthest top point on the right. Then draw a line from the top-middle point and draw it straight thru the center of the first line, forming a letter ‘X’ shape.

Step 5

Now draw 2 lines connecting the outer-top points to each other.

Step 6

– Now draw 2 lines parallel to the bottom and top of the box. It should be close to the top of the box.

– Also around the center of the letter ‘X’ shape draw 2 curved lines.

Step 7

– Draw 2 curved lines to finish off the center of the bow.

– Draw 2 flattened letter ‘S’ shapes just below the center of the bow. Also draw 2 letter ‘U’ shapes.

Step 8

– Draw 2 letter ‘s’ shapes that look just like the first letter ‘s’ shape.

– Draw 2 letter ‘V’ shapes to close off the letter ‘U’ shape that you drew in the last step.

Step 9

– Draw 2 letter ‘V’ shapes.

– Draw a letter ‘U’ and ‘J’ shape to form part of the bow.

Step 10

–  Now draw 2 vertical lines on both sides of the box.

– Draw 2 lines within the bow.

Step 11

– Lightly draw the ribbons that criss-cross the top of the box.

– Finish off the right-side of the ribbon with a shape that is a slightly curved letter ‘V’ shape.

Step 12

– Now darken the important lines on the box. Notice that we made the lid of the box jut out a bit on each side.

Finished Gift with Bow

Erase the guidelines and you have a pretty nice picture of a beautifully wrapped gift. This present can be for Christmas, Hanukkah, a birthday, or for anything you want it to be fore. Happy Holidays!
