How to Draw Joy and Sadness from Inside Out with Simple Step by Step Drawing Tutorial for Kids

Step 1

Start off the drawing by drawing Joy’s face. Draw an oval. Then draw guidelines within it. This will help you place the facial features later.

Step 2

– Now draw Joy’s body. Notice that the height of the body is about 2 of Joy’s heads high. This will keep her in the right proportion.

Step 3

– Draw her arms by drawing a letter ‘V’ shape and an upside down letter ‘V’ for the legs.

Step 4

– Draw her collar.

– Draw the rest of her arms and legs.

Step 5

– Draw the guidelines for Joy’s hands with a triangle and oval shape.

– Draw curved lines for the nose and eyes.

– Draw sideways letter ‘M’ for part of her hair.

Step 6

– Draw letter ‘C’ shaped lips.

– Draw ?-like shape for her thumbs and outside fingers.

– Draw letter ‘Y’ shapes in her hair.

Step 7

– Continue to draw her fingers and her hair with simple shapes.

– Draw a letter ‘C’ shaped tongue.

– Draw an oval for Sadness.

Step 8

– Finish Joy’s fingers.

– Color her hair in with different shades of blue. Outline the hairs in black.

Step 9

– Lets get started on Sadness. Draw guidelines in her face.

– Draw a ?-like shape for her pants line.

– Draw letter ‘e’ and ‘c’ shapes for her shoes.

Step 10

– Draw circles for Sadness’ eyes. Draw a curved line for the mouth.

– Draw more details in the pants and shirt with letter ‘V’ and ‘L’ shape.

Step 11

– Work more on sadness. All of these simple shapes are starting to form Sadness’ shape.

Step 12

– Draw Sadness’ arm with a capital letter ‘D’ shape.

– Draw curved lines on eyes and glasses.

– Continue with Sadness’ hair.

Step 13

– Draw letter ‘j’ shaped fingers.

– Draw an oval inside each eye.

– Draw curved lines for eye brows.

– Color in her hair.

Step 14

– Here is what the line drawing looks like when finished.
