How to Draw an Autumn Fall Scene Step by Step Drawing Tutorial for Kids

A nice beginning drawing tutorial for learning how to draw a fall or autumn scene. This is a great tutorial for classes to try when Halloween is right around the corner, but kids want to try something a little bit harder than a jack-o-lantern. How to Draw an Autumn Fall Scene Step by Step Drawing Tutorial for Kids

Written Out Step by Step Instructions

(Step 1) On the left side of your paper lets start drawing a tree.

(Step 2) Lets start drawing the larger branches. Draw bubble letter ‘Y’ shapes for these branches. Draw rectangles for the fence. Draw curved lines for the hills in the background.

(Step 3) Draw more letter ‘Y’ branches at the top of the tree. It is fine if they run off the top of the paper. Draw rectangles connecting each fence post to the next post. Draw 2 ovals for the cat that is on top of the fence. Draw ovals for the pumpkins that are in front of the tree.

(Step 4) Draw some letter ‘V’ shapes connect branches to the tree…also one at the bottom of the tree for roots. Continue adding to the cat. Draw letter ‘Y’ shapes for the trees in the background. Draw ovals on the top of the pumpkin.

(Step 5) Draw cloud shapes at the top of the tree.

(Step 6) Branch off the trees with letter ‘Y’ shapes. Continue adding to the cat…and give him pizza slice eyes. Draw curved lines on the pumpkins.

(Step 7) Draw some lines and ‘v’-shapes on the tree for texture. Keep branching off on the tops of the backgroun trees. Draw letter ‘u’ shapes on the tops of the pumpkins..connecting the curved lines to eachother. Finish up the cat. Draw Letter ‘D’ shapes leaves.

(Step 8) Draw pumpkin stems. Draw letter ‘S’ curves on the leaves (for the stems).

(Step 9) Use yellows, oranges, and reds to scribble the leaves on. Literally just scribbling creates an Autumn leaf ‘look’. Color tan on tree trunk.

(Step 10) Color lots of shades of brown on tree trunk as I did….you can scribble in a more focused way – see how I scribbled along the shape of the tree, instead of in a circular motion. Color in the pumpkins orange. Draw a more yellowish orange for highlights in each section of the pumpkin. Color in the cat black.

(Step 11) Color in the sky, fence, and grass.
