How to Draw Windshear and Heather from How to Train Your Dragon in Easy Steps

Written Out Instructions for Drawing Windshear and Heather

(Step 1) Start the basic shapes that make up the dragon and Heather. Draw guidelines inside Heather’s face.

(Step 2) Draw some ovals and a sideways letter ‘v’ shape in the dragon’s face. Draw letter ‘u’ shapes on the dragon’s feet.

(Step 3) Draw letter ‘D’ shaped eyes and a letter ‘s’ shaped nose and a letter ‘c’ shaped ear. Outline Heather’s form. Draw letter ‘U’ shapes in the dragon’s face. Draw the eye lid and curved lines under it. Draw a letter ‘U’ shaped foot in the back.

(Step 4) Draw letter ‘V’ shaped nails on the dragon. Add details to Heather’s face. Draw her shoulder pads as well. Add more details to the dragon’s face.

(Step 5) Add Windshear’s tongue and add to the face. Add letter ‘V’-like shapes to the tail. Add details to Heather’s wardrobe, as well as her hair.

(Step 10) Draw a letter ‘V’ shaped spike on the left wing. Continue drawing letter ‘u’ shaped scales on the dragon’s body. Finish Heather’s braid.

(Step 11) Finish up the dragon and heather. Erase guidelines and darken / thicken the outlining black lines.
