How to Draw Cartoon Santa Claus and Reindeer Easy Step by Step Tutorial

Written Out Simple Step by Step Instructions

You don’t need to use brown craft paper or construction paper, but I think it makes the drawing pop, especially with the snow. Just use white paper if you want to. 🙂

(Step 1) Draw two #8-like shapes, made from ovals.

(Step 2) Santa: Draw guidelines thru his face. Draw a nose with an oval. Draw 2 ovals for the feet.
Reindeer: Draw a letter ‘L’ shape on the left side of face. Draw an oval for eye. Draw an upside down letter ‘Y’ for feet.

(Step 3) Santa: Draw ovals for eyes (#8 shape). Draw letter ‘C’ shapes inside Santa’s body and shoes.
Reindeer: Draw ovals for eyes. Draw a letter ‘T’ shape at smile. Draw a #2 and #5 for feet.

(Step 4) Santa: Draw two letter ‘S’ shapes on Santa’s face. Draw 2 lines for eacxh arm and on his chest. Draw sideways letter ‘D’ shapes for shoes.
Reindeer: Draw a leaf shaped ear and an oval over his shoulder (Santa’s hand).

(Step 5) Santa: Draw a circle for his hat’s pom pom. Draw a sideways letter ‘C’ shape for his beard. Draw dots in each of his eyes and draw bottom of his hat. Draw rectangle belt buckle. Draw #3 shaped hand.
Reindeer: Draw wiggly lines for antlers looks like letter ‘w’ that turns into a letter ‘m’. Draw a leaf shaped ear. Draw 2 lines for reindeer’s arm and 2 lines for santa’s arm. Draw a #3 shape for his hoof and finish up his legs.

(Step 6) Santa: Draw 2 letter ‘T’ shapes for his smile. Draw a letter ‘S’ shape for bottom of mustache. Draw curved line connecting head to pom pom. Draw the belt and draw rectangle for sleeve. Draw a #3 shape for reindeer’s hoof that is over his shoulder. Finish up boots.
Reindeer: Draw a curved line connecting head to antlers. Draw a curved line in each of his ears. Draw a line for his arm.

(Step 7) Add finishing details.

(Step 8) Add white and black to drawing.

(Step 9) Color in Santa and the reindeer.
