How to Draw Angry Bird Hatchlings Baby Birds – Drawing Tutorial from the Angry Bird Movie

Today I will show you how to draw the baby birds (aka hatchlings) from The Angry Birds Movie that is out right now. These adorable baby birds aren’t too difficult to draw…and I will show you how to draw theme in the following simple steps. Have fun!

Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions

(Step 1) Draw a bunch of different shapes…they are all (except for the 3rd one) like sideways, uppercase letter ‘D’ shapes…but rounded. The 3rd one is just an oval-ish shape.

(Step 2) Draw guidelines in each, just as I have.

(Step 3) Draw oval eyes.

(Step 4) Draw ovals inside the eyes you drew in the last step. Draw two #8-like shapes on each bird for the toes.

(Step 5) Draw letter ‘u’ shaped wings on some of the birds. On the first bird draw curved lines on top of the head…on the 4th bird draw an upside down letter ‘u’ shape on top of the bird. Draw an oval in between the eyes, on the first bird. On second and third bird, draw a sideways uppercase letter ‘D’ shape. On fourth bird draw a triangle-like shape.

(Step 6) Draw another oval in each of the eyes again. On 1st bird draw 2 curved lines on top of head. On top of 4th bird draw another upside down letter ‘U’ shape…as well as letter ‘w’ like shapes for the feathers on the wings.

(Step 7) On top of first bird draw curved lines on top of the feathers, as well as a sideways letter ‘v’ shape. Draw an upside down letter ‘u’ on top of 1st bird’s beak. Draw a curved line at bottom of 2nd bird’s beak. Draw an oval around the beak for 3rd bird’s beak. Draw a letter ‘u’ shape at bottom of 4th bird’s beak. On all of the birds, draw lines at bottom connecting toes to bird.

(Step 8) Draw letter ‘v’ shaped eye lashes on 1st and 4th bird’s eyes. Draw a letter ‘u’ shape at bottom of first bird’s beak. Draw an oval in each bird’s eyes for the highlight. Draw a curved lines to finish 4th bird’s wings. Draw a curved line at top of it for the last top feather. Finish up the feet with tiny lines I have drawn.

(Step 9) Erase lines that you no longer need. Fill in the eyes with black. Draw the hairs on top of middle 2 birds.

(Step 10) The birds are complete – color them in if you choose to.
