Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions
(Step 1) Draw a circle-ish shape.
(Step 2) Draw an oval in front of the circle.
(Step 3) Draw a chin at the bottom of the head.
(Step 4) Draw a line through the center of the head vertically. Then draw a line through the center horizontally – using the top of the oval as the top of the head, and the chin as the bottom.
(Step 5) Draw a half-way line between the bottom of the oval and the half-way line…make a hash-mark.
(Step 6) Draw half-way marks between both of those as well.
(Step 7) Draw a center circle for the nose, and then 2 smaller circles, one on either side.
(Step 8) Lightly draw an upside down triangle to figure out where to put the eye-circles.
(Step 9) Draw eye circles as I did. Draw 2 small circles on the mouth line.
(Step 10) Draw curved lines for tops of eyes. Draw sideways letter ‘s’ shape for bottom of nose.
(Step 11) Draw letter ‘m’ like shape for top of mouth…using circles to help you draw this. Draw sides of nose. Outline the circle eye-guides.
(Step 12) Draw the ears between the top and center guidelines. Draw the irises of the eyes. Draw a curved line above the nose. Draw center line of mouth.
(Step 13) Draw lower curved line of the eyes. Draw another circle within the eyes. Draw lower lip.
(Step 14) Fill in the irises, except for the highlight. Draw lines on sides of eyes. Draw a few more lines in the right ear.
(Step 15) Lay down some gray in the eyes.
(Step 16) Add a little bit of shadow on the eye balls and then draw eye lashes. Draw some shadow at bottom of nose.
(Step 17) Draw some shadow above the eyes for the upper eye lids. Add the dimple below the nose…and add some shading to the lips.
(Step 18) Add some highlight to the lips. Add some shading to the cheeks and beside the right eye.
(Step 19) Add more shadows to the face and ear. Start adding some whisps of hair.
(Step 20) Add more lines to the hair and deepen the shadows and blend together.
(Step 21) Your baby is finished…go further if you wish to.
