This is a simple-to-follow, step by step drawing tutorial. We will guide you through the steps with basic geometric shapes, alphabet letters, and numbers. Have fun!
How to Draw Cartoon Mom and Kids from the Word Mom – Simple Step by Step Drawing Lesson for Kids
Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions
(Step 1) Write out the word “mom” in the way I did above.
(Step 2) Draw circles for eyes. Draw a capital letter ‘H’ shape for the mom’s body.
(Step 3) Draw a #6-like shape for each child’s body. Draw letter ‘u’ shaped eyes for the kids…and downwards curved lines for the mom’s eyes. Draw the mom’s shoulders.
(Step 4) Draw circle faces for the children. Draw letter ‘u’ shaped noses. Draw #3-shaped hands for the mom – holding the kids.
(Step 5) Draw upside down letter ‘v’ shaped hats…and sideways ‘v’ shaped scarves. The kids’ hands should be #3 shapes. Draw curved lines for smiles and a curved line for the mom’s collar.
(Step 6) Draw curved lines in the kids’ hats. Draw an upside down letter ‘v’ shape for the mom’s hair-line. Draw a letter ‘y’ shape in each scarf. Draw a sideways #3 shape on the mom’s chest (for the top of the heart). Draw curved lines for the mom’s arms.
(Step 7) Draw zig-zaggy pom-poms at the tops of the hats. Draw lines in the hats and at the ends of the scarves. Draw curved lines around the necks. Draw a letter ‘v’ shape for the bottom of the heart. Draw sideways, capital letter ‘D’ shapes for the mom’s shoes.
(Step 8) Draw lines in the scarves. Draw curved lines for the arms. Draw letter ‘L’ shapes on sides of the mom’s face (for hair).
(Step 9) Draw lines in the hair and darken / thicken lines. Colorize the characters if you choose to.
