How to Draw a Lighthouse by the Sea Step by Step Drawing Tutorial for Beginners and Kids

Today I will show you how to draw a lighthouse on a northern rocky beach (such as in Maine or Canada) with a turned over boat. This lighthouse is by the sea / ocean and there is water washing up onto the beach. I will show you how to draw this seascape with easy step by step drawing steps and instructions. Happy Drawing!

Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions

(Step 1) Draw some random curved lines for hills in the background..any lines will do.

(Step 2) Draw some random wavy lines for sand / water…no need to match my curvy lines – do your own.

(Step 3) Draw a check-mark shape – then draw 2 lines for a house – then draw some #7 shapes for a cliff.

(Step 4) Draw some lines – the 2 inward lines are for the lighthouse.

(Step 5) Draw slanted lines for the house’s roof. Draw a letter ‘L’ shape on the boat
(front) and draw 2 lines for one of the houses.

(Step 6) Draw jagged lines on the cliff. Then draw a sideways letter ‘S’-like shape on the boat.

(Step 7) Draw a letter ‘L’ in the front. Then draw a few lines and 2 curved lines for rocks.

(Step 8) Draw some straight and curved lines.

(Step 9) Draw lines under boat for logs. Then draw curved lines and odd shapes for
rocks.

(Step 10) Draw curved lines for the sides of the logs and for the front of the boat.

(Step 11) Draw ovals on the boat and on the lighthouse. Draw a line on the house and a letter ‘M’ shape and jagged lines for rocks etc.

(Step 12) Draw odd ovals for rocks. Draw lines on the lighthouse, on the boat, and on some rocks.

(Step 13) Follow the curve of the boat to draw the individual pieces of wood. Draw
some lines for sand.

(Step 14) Add curved lines for sand. Draw a #7 shape to finish off the boat. Draw
random shapes for rocks.

(Step 15) Draw a triangle top to the lighthouse. Draw random curved lines for the water washing up upon the shore.

(Step 17) Draw an oval and then some letter ‘j’ shapes for the plants coming up.
