Today I’ll show you how to draw a cuter, kawaii / chibi version of Mulan – these Disney Princess from the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan. This is a much easier version of Mulan to learn how to draw, and much cuter. Kids of all ages will be able to follow along as I have broken down the steps into easy-to-follow geometric shapes, alphabet letters, and numbers. Have fun and Happy Drawing!

Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions
(Step 1) Draw a circle for the head.
(Step 2) Draw an upside down ‘?’ shape for the body.
(Step 3) Finish the body with a curved line. Draw a letter ‘M’-like shape for Mulan’s bangs.
(Step 4) Draw a backwards letter ‘Y’ shape on her robe. Draw a sideways #7 shape for the bottom of Mulan’s robe.
(Step 5) Draw a sideways #7 shape for her bangs.
(Step 6) Draw 2 curved lines that when combined look like a curved letter ‘v’ shape. Lightly draw guide lines in her face…these will be erased at the end.
(Step 7) Draw #7 eyes. Draw another letter ‘v’ shaped arm.
(Step 8) Draw curved lines on eyes and for hair.
(Steps 9-10) Add details to her robe.
(Step 11) Draw sideways letter ‘s’ shaped eye brows. Draw a curved line for her mouth.
(Step 12) Draw lines in her hair.
Erase guide lines and color her in. Come back soon for more tutorials.
