How to Draw Calcifer Eating a Log (Cute Kawaii) from Howl’s Moving Castle Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Today I’ll show you how to draw a cute chibi / kawaii version of Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle. Calcifer is one of the most loved Studio Ghibli characters so I hope you guys enjoy learning how to draw him. Happy Drawing!

How to Draw Calcifer Eating a Log (Cute Kawaii) from Howl’s Moving Castle Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Step 01

Draw an oval. This will be on the bottom right side of the drawing, so make sure there is room to draw on the left side.

STEP 02

Draw 2 curved lines, one for the top of the log and one for the bottom of the log.

STEP 03

Draw a curved line for the left side of the log.

STEP 04

Draw a curved line that almost forms a “V”.

STEP 05

Start drawing Calcifer’s hands. They are “C”-like shapes.

STEP 06

Draw the rest of the hands. Now they look like ovals.

STEP 07

Start drawing Calcifer’s feet. Draw sideways “U” shapes.

STEP 08

Draw a line for each leg. They should be slanted in towards each other.

STEP 09

Draw “S”-shapes at the sides of the face. Draw a curved line in between his legs.

STEP 10

Draw “M”-like shapes for the flames on top of his head.

STEP 11

Draw 2 curved lines and one “S”-like shape for the flames.

STEP 12

Draw a curved line in the middle. Now let’s start outlining the original flames you drew by drawing 2 “M” shapes.

STEP 13

Continue outlining the original flames. Draw an upside-down “V” in the center.

STEP 14

Draw an oval for each eye.

STEP 15

Draw half circles for the pupils of his eyes.

STEP 16

Draw a swirly line in the log.

STEP 17

Draw curved lines for the pattern on the log.

STEP 18

Erase unneeded lines.

STEP 19
