Little kids love babies…so how about I teach a few of you how to draw a simple cartoon sitting baby wearing a diaper. This cartooning tutorial will guide you through drawing a baby’s figure by drawing simple shapes for his form. Young children, such as preschoolers, can even draw this with help from their parents. How to Draw Cartoon Baby with Easy Drawing Lesson for Kids

Step 1

Draw a number ’8′ like shape as pictured above.

Step 2

You don’t need to draw the red lines that you see above…I drew them to show you that the baby’s facial features are below the red line (half way down the shape of the circle head.

Draw 2 filled-in circles for eyes, a letter ‘c’ for a nose, and a sideways ‘J’ like shape for the baby’s smile. Feel free to change the eyes, nose, or mouth if you want the baby to look different than mine.

Step 3

Draw a curly-cue hair on the top of the baby’s head by drawing a squiggly line as pictured above. Draw a an ear on either side of the baby’s head…between the eyes and nose (look like letter ‘c’ s).  Draw an upwards curved line at the bottom of the baby’s body, for a diaper.

Step 4

Now draw a number ’6′ like shape for the baby’s belly button. Now draw a place for the legs to come out of the baby’s diaper by drawing a letter ‘c’ on either side of the diaper (the one on the left is a backwards ‘c’).

Step 5

Now draw the basic shapes that make up the arms and legs of the baby. Draw a rectangle with a circle on top of it for each arm. Draw a rectangle for the legs and a rectangle for each foot.

Step 6

Now draw the outline of the arms and legs…for fingers draw little letter ‘u’s.

Step 7

Now draw darker lines for the outlines of the baby and erase any lines that you don’t need any more.

This is how your finished cartoon babies should look, but try your own variations for fun. Good luck.
