How to Draw a Crawling Baby with Cartooning Lesson

Today I will show you how to draw a crawling baby or toddler. This is a step by step drawing tutorial for drawing cartoon babies and most kids will enjoy the process of drawing him.

How to Draw Cartoon / Comic Crawling Babies with Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

Lightly sketch out the basic shapes of the baby’s head and body….an oval and a circle.

Step 2

Now draw stick arms and legs and ovals for feet and hands.

Step 3

Now draw a guideline around the baby’s head / face both ways. Pretend that the baby’s face is a ball and wrap the lines around the face. This will help you place the facial features. Draw the ear (2 letter ‘c’ shapes) and the eyes …. a filled-in circle with an upside down letter ‘u’ above it for the eyebrow.

Step 4

Now darken the outlines of the baby’s head / face (except for the spot right at the right end of his hair – look below to see what I mean)

Step 5

Draw the mouth as a capital letter ‘T’ like shape. Draw a sideways capital letter ‘J’ for the hair curl at the top right side of the head. Also darken in some more outlines.

Step 6

Now add some mass/form to the arms and legs as pictured above.

Step 7

To draw the fingers draw a letter ‘u’ and a number ‘3’ (look at the picture above). Also darken in the outlines on the front arm and leg. Also draw an oval with lines within it for the cuff of the shirt.

Step 8

The cuff of the back leg cuff looks like a bubble letter ‘c’ with lines within it. On the back hand, draw a number ‘3’ for fingers.

Step 9

Draw a sideways letter ‘J shape for the thumb. Draw the tops of the socks as well.

Step 10

Lightly sketch a number ‘8’ for each foot so that you can picture how to draw each foot.

Step 11 – Finished Drawing of a Crawling Baby

So now erase any guidelines that you don’t need any more…also erase any mistakes that you have made. Darken the outer lines as well.
