Do you want to learn how to draw a flower called a Buttercup? I have put together a step-by-step tutorial that will help you figure out how to draw Buttercups (They are such pretty flowers) by using simple shapes to build up their form. This is an easy illustration tutorial that kids, teens, and adults will enjoy. Even some younger children might be able to draw an illustrated Buttercup if you stand by to help with the instructions. Enjoy!
Lightly draw an oval and then draw a curved line down from the center of the oval.
Now draw a smaller oval towards the bottom of the bigger oval.
Now start drawing the petals around the oval that you drew.
Now erase the outer oval (you don’t need it as a guide anymore). Now draw a bunch of tiny ovals inside the middle oval and then erase that oval when you are done.
Now put in some finishing details in the flower…erase any lines that you don’t need anymore and darken the outer lines to finish it up.
Start off the second flower buttercup by drawing an oval and then drawing a line down from the lower part of the oval. Lightly sketch these lines since they will be erased at the end.
Now draw a half-circle (or an upside down letter ‘u’) above the lines, within the oval. Start drawing petals around the oval shape.
Now draw a half-circle type shape (or a sideways letter ‘c’ like shape) under the oval.
Now draw the 3 petals at the bottom.
Now erase the ovals and the other dashed lines. Draw tiny ovals within the half-circle that you drew earlier and then erase that half-circle.
Now put in some finishing details in the flower…erase any lines that you don’t need anymore and darken the outer lines to finish it up.
