How to Draw Harold Hutchins from Captain Underpants with Simple Steps

Today I will show you how to draw Harold Hutchins from Captain Underpants. Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey is a series of American children’s books about two fourth graders, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, and the superhero they accidentally create by hypnotizing their principal, Mr. Benny Krupp. This is a series of books that my kids all thought was hilarious and I even painting a mural of Captain Underpants on my son’s wall when he was a little kid. How to Draw Harold Hutchins from Captain Underpants with Simple Steps Drawing Tutorial for Kids

Step 1

Firstly, draw the basic shape of Harold’s body – a triangle. Then draw stick figure limbs with ovals for feet and hands.

Step 2

Now draw the basic shape of Harold’s hair…a capital letter ‘B’ at an angle. Draw the top of his pants and the shape of his mouth ( a half circle).

Step 3

Draw loop-de-loops for the left side of his hair – and number ‘3’s for the right side of his hair. Draw the mass around the stick arm and number ‘3’ shapes for the fingers.

Step 4

Draw teeth.

Step 5

Draw teeth lines…a letter ‘c’ for the nose, lines for the eyes, and a backwards letter ‘c’ for the right ear.

Step 6

Draw the top of underwear and his sleeve.

Step 7

Draw the bottom of the underwear – a 2 curves on each side with a line in between…start drawing the left arm now.

Step 8

Now draw the shorts coming out from underneath the underwear. Also draw the left leg (mass / form around the stick leg we drew).

Step 9

Draw both legs, socks, and shoes. Lightly sketch 4 ovals on the left hand for fingers.

Step 10

Now draw the hand around the ovals.

Step 11

Now color in the basic colors and finish up the details and erase the guidelines.

Step 12

Color in the highlights.
