How to Draw Cartoon Baby New Year with Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Tomorrow is New Years Eve, so I thought I should get my butt in gear and finally make a Baby New Year Drawing Lesson for you guys. This is for Baby New Year 2011, but if you for some reason catch this drawing tutorial on another year, just change the year up and you are all set.

How to Draw Baby New Year with Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

First lightly sketch a circle and then lightly sketch an oval below it. This is the basic shape of a baby’s head (a cartoon head)

Step 2

Now lightly sketch a big circle for the baby (most babies are pretty chubby). Draw stick lines for arms and legs…and ovals for his feet…and circles for hands.

Step 3

Now we will focus on the face. Lightly sketch guidelines in the baby’s face, the way I did. This will help to place the baby’s facial features. Draw a half circle for each eye, directly on top of the oval part of the face. The oval on the left is slightly bigger. Draw 3 circles for the baby’s nose…the one in the center is bigger.

Step 4

Now draw around the circles for the real shape of the nose…draw a letter ‘c’ for each nostril. Draw a circle for the baby’s pupil / iris, in each eye. Draw a little circle for the baby’s mouth…and 2 letter ‘u’ shapes below the mouth. The first ‘u’ is for the bottom lip, and the 2nd letter ‘u’ is for the baby’s chin. Notice that the baby’s mouth is right below the circle-shaped part of the face.

Step 5

Now fill in the eyes, except for a small white circle for the highlight. Fill in the mouth black. Lightly sketch ovals for the fingers.

Step 6

Now draw outlines around the ovals for fingers. Draw the arms as well. Also draw the face of the baby, using the oval and circle that you drew in step number 1 to guide you through it.

Step 7

Now lets start drawing the body too. Lightly draw ovals on the top of the oval feet, for toes. Draw lines for the legs as well, around the stick figure lines that you drew earlier.

Step 8

Now draw the legs with the fat wrinkles in there. Refine the feet as I do.

Step 9

Now put in some more details…such as the diaper and the New Years Sash on the baby…as well as the year.

Step 10

Erase the guidelines, and darken the correct lines as well.

Step 11

I colored the baby in…you can too…but it is not necessary unless you feel like it. This Baby New Year would be perfect to draw on a New Years Card.
