How to Draw Steve the Monkey from Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs

Written-Out Step by Step Instructions

Start off by drawing a rectangle with curved edges.

(Step 1) Draw a guideline thru the center of the shape. Draw an oval on both sides of the face. Draw a letter ‘U’ shape under the first shape.

(Step 2) Outline the shape you drew in step #1. Draw an oval for each ear. Draw an oval in each eye. Draw a letter ‘U’ shape inside the chin.

(Step 3) Draw zig-zaggy shapes on top of his head. Draw an oval above his head. Draw an oval in each ear and eye. Draw a dash for each nostril. Draw a curved line at the top of the mouth.

(Step 4) Draw zig-zaggy shapes on sides of face. Draw a circle highlight in each eye. Draw a letter ‘m’ at top of mouth and a letter ‘u’ shape at bottom of mouth for tongue. Draw a letter ‘u’ shape for body and an oval in side it.

(Step 5) Click on the image to make it larger so you can see the teeth better. Draw sideways #3 shaped humps for the top of the teeth. Draw a curved line at the bottom of the teeth. Draw zig-zaggy shapes for the fur. Draw ovals in the monkey and at the bottom of the monkey.

(Step 6) Draw a line on both sides of head. Draw curvy, wiggly lines in the mouth. Also draw letter ‘u’ shapes for the two top teeth that I drew. Outline the ovalson the chest. Draw curvy #3 shapes around the center oval on the chest. Draw ovals for bottom of the legs. Also lightly draw 2 lines for the tail and right arm.

(Step 7) Draw more curvy wiggly lines for the teeth inside the mouth. Draw a few basic shapes in the chest. Draw zig-zaggy shapes for fur on arm and tail.

(Step 8) Draw curved lines on the headband. Draw a backwards letter ‘L’ shape under the monkey’s face. Draw curvy lines in the mouth. Draw sideways letter ‘M’ shape to continue drawing the star that is on the radio. Draw an oval to finish up the note that is on the radio. Draw a bunch of ovals and lines on the radio. Draw letter ‘U’ shaped toes.

(Step 9) On the top left of the monkey, draw 2 lines. Finish up details on the radio. Draw a line for bottom of cape.

(Step 10) Draw sides of cape.

(Step 11) Darken lines and fill some things in.

(Step 12) Color in the monkey.
