Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions

We’ll start off the drawing by drawing the hand. All blue lines in this tutorial are guide lines and will be erased later on.

(Step 1) Lightly draw 2 angled lines. These lines are guides and will be erased later on.

(Step 2) Connect these lines.

(Step 3) Draw a sideways “D”

(Step 4) Now we will start the “real” lines. Use the thumb guide lines to draw the lines in this step.

(Step 5) Draw 2 curved lines, using the guides to guide you.

(Step 6) Draw 2 “J”-like shapes.

(Step 7) Draw a backwards “C”-like shape.

(Step 8) Draw a line, for part of the thumb’s nail.

(Step 9) Draw a backwards “?”-like curve.

(Step 10) Draw lines for the base of the hammer. Lightly draw the blue parts of the lines, Parts of these lines will be erased and the other parts will be darkened later on.

(Step 11) Draw curved lines on both sides.

(Step 12) Draw wavy lines at the top of the hammer. Draw a line at the base of the hammer.

(Step 13) Draw 2 sideways “?”-like shapes. Don’t draw the dots.

(Step 14) Draw some curved lines.

(Step 15) Draw some details on the head of the hammer. Draw a curved line for one of the fingers.

(Step 16) Draw curved lines on the head of the hammer. Outline the claw of the hammer. Add a “J”-like shape and a curved line on the fingers.

(Step 17) Add some details to the top of the hammer and the hand.

(Step 18) Draw a few lines on the top of the hammer. Draw a “J”-like shape and a line on the fingers.

(Step 19) Draw a line on the top of the hammer. Draw a “J” shape and some “U”-like shapes on the fingers.

(Step 20) Draw some curved lines on the head of the hammer. Draw some curved lines on the fingers / nails.

(Step 21) Draw a few lines on the top of the hammer. Finish up the hand.

(Step 22) Erase the lines you don’t need and darken the ones that you do.
