How to Draw Cartoon Horses with Easy Step by Step Drawing Lesson

Step 1

You can start lightly sketching the cartoon horse by drawing the basic shapes that build up its form. For example, the head is made up of a 2 squares. You can pass this step if it is too difficult for you, and instead just follow the directions that follow.However, I suggest that you try to build up the basic form of the horse first…this is how a true artist or cartoonist would do it.

Step 2

Start drawing the horse’s face by drawing a number ‘3’ like shape at the spot that the 2 squares meet (if you decided to draw the underlying shapes of the horse). Also draw a curved line for the horse’s eye.

Step 3

On the top of the curved line draw the rest of the horse’s eye, which looks like a capital letter ‘A’. Also draw the horse’s smile, which looks like a backwards capital letter ‘J’.

Step 4

Now draw the horse’s nostril, which looks like a big comma, with a smaller comma within it. Also finish up the horse’s eye with a half circle-like shape (for the horse’s iris and pupil). Fill in the horse’s iris and leave an oval un-colored for a the horse’s pupil.

Step 5

Finish off the horse’s face by drawing a backwards letter ‘s’ like shape.

Step 6

Now draw a letter ‘c’ like shape for the horse’s second nostril. Also draw the other horse’s eye by drawing a circle-like shape, with a line across for the horse’s eye lid.
